Welcome to Theological Stew!Preparation:
Each ingredient we pick up on our journey of faith that we find to be new or interesting or surprising, slowly becomes a part of what we believe... and simmers into a unique theological stew. And, as a chef shares her favorite recipes, we can share our stews with one another... not critically, not comparatively, or to prove that our stew tastes the best- but to add to the richness and flavor or what is in our own crock pot. |
Around the Table
Here's some of what is served up on Sundays at church- http://www.fbcmoorestown.org/
At some point I will try to organize these sermons by scripture passage and/or the lectionary cycle.
For now, it's kind of pot luck :)

Food For Thought (blog)
Meals are always better with hearty conversation! Just as you would go to an old friend's house for dinner,
I invite you to pull up a chair, grab a plate and join in!
But please, remember your table manners....
no one wants indigestion ;)

Movies that Cook
I have a love of movies- especially foreign films. However, I tend to watch them through a theological lens. In this section, I plan to give a short review and theological reflection of movies I love. Here's a taste:
The Way Home
As it Is In Heaven
Babette's Feast
The Color of Paradise

Basic Ingredients
Although stew is finally spiced to taste, here are some basic ingredients that go into my everyday recipe:
Prayer & Meditation
Lectio Divina, Contemplative Prayer,
and other spiritual disciplines (varies by season)
The Bible-
I generally use the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
From time to time rely on The Message for a more mellow flavor,
Contemporary English Version (CEV) and
The New Living Translation (NLT) if I am looking for extra color
Finally, to keep it all organized somewhere- a Journal
